Day 1 | Warsaw
On arrival in Warsaw, we will be met by a tour guide and transferred to a hotel. Lunch. Remaining part of the day is free for relaxation, a stroll along Royal Route, enjoying the taste of the World's best classic doughnuts at "Blikle" or a walk around the Old Town. Welcoming dinner. Overnight in Warsaw,  Novotel Centrum Hotel, D 

Day 2 | Warsaw / Zakopane
Departure for Zakopane. En route, a stop in Czestochowa to visit the monastery fortress of Jasna Gora, Poland's National shrine and home of the Black Madonna, revered as the "Queen of Poland".  After lunch, we continue to Zakopane through the Ojcow National Park, the smallest of all Polish National Parks, to explore fantastic lime rock formations (Hercules Mace), the mighty Pieskowa Skala castle and the scenic river valley with 60 meters  high slopes.  Scenic drive to Zakopane, the winter capital of Poland, a resort located 100 km south of Krakow in the Tatra Mountains.  Dinner with live entertainment at a local restaurant.  Overnight in Zakopane, Giewont Hotel,  B & D.

Day 3 | Zakopane / Krakow
After breakfast a tour of Zakopane.  Visit a beautiful Jasczurowka wooden church, an artistic masterpiece, next, the main ski jump in Zakopane, the place of the World Cup Ski Jump competition.  Now, we visit the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, with a statue of Pope John Paul outside.  On our return way to the town we stop at the historic cemetery "Na Peksowym Brzysku" with unique tombstones of many famous Polish artists, writers and mountaineers.  Later, a trip to the top of the Gubalowka Hill, by a funicular car, for a magnificent panoramic view of the area.  After lunch a great opportunity to shop for local folk art.  Transfer to Krakow via village of Chocholow.  The village of Chocholow represents the most complete survival of an old gorale village. The majority of the houses here were built during the nineteenth century, and it was from buildings such as these that Witkiewicz took his inspiration for the 'Zakopane Style'.  Before reaching Krakow a short stop in Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, to visit the basilica with the 15th century presbytery and the baptismal font by which  little Karol Wojtyla was baptized. Great opportunity to taste the famous "Pope's kremowka".  Overnight in Krakow.  B, D

Day 4  | Krakow
After breakfast we drive to  Wieliczka, situated 10 miles south of Krakow. Here we tour the Royal Salt Mine, the 3-mile long spectacular, unforgettable walk through caves, chapels and chambers including the largest and most impressive Chapel of St. Kinga, situated 101 meters under ground level. Later, after lunch, we tour Krakow, a magnificent medieval jewel, the nation's former capital for over 500 years, beginning at the Royal Wawel Castle and the Royal Cathedral, symbols of Polish identity. Next, a visit to the Collegium Maius, the oldest part of the Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364 and the alma mater of Copernicus. Europe's largest medieval market square and its Church are a must to see. Inside the church - Wit Stwosz acclaimed altar, a Gothic masterpiece. We conclude the tour at the Florianska Gate.  In the evening a visit to the Jewish Quarter where Spielberg's famous movie "Schindler's List" was filmed. Dinner at the Jewish restaurant with live entertainment.   Overnight in Krakow. B, L, D

Day 5 | Krakow

Today is your day off to relax, explore the city, its numerous museums and galleries on your own or shop for arts and crafts (amber, lace and leather gifts) for which the city is famous.  Overnight in Krakow.  B

Day 6 | Krakow / Wroclaw
Morning departure for Wroclaw.  En route a stop in Auschwitz, the infamous and largest Nazi concentration camp, now a martyrdom museum.  Later we visit the  St.Anne's Mount.  Visit a Franciscan monastery, sanctuary - visited by thousands of pilgrims.  St.Anne's Mt. witnessed the battles during the Silesian Uprising in 1921, commemorated with enormous monument.  Later, in Moszna, a gigantic, eclectic, XIX century, 7000 square meter palace with 365 rooms, the reminiscent of the English castle from the Elisabethan period and a park complex.   In Wroclaw explore an Old Town magnificent market square.  Overnight in Wroclaw,  Pensjonat Jana Pawla II or Sofitel Hotel. Day 7 | Wroclaw
The tour of Wroclaw, the Capital of Lower Silesia, starts at the oldest part of the city, the Ostrow Tumski.  We visit the splendid Gothic Cathedral dominating the Ostrow Tumski Island, later the Town Hall, built in 1327 - 1504, considered one of the Europe's most beautiful constructions of this type and the Baroque magnificent Aula Leopoldinum of the Wroclaw University founded in 1700.  Next, the Centenary Hall from 1913, the world's first modern structure made of ferro-concrete, now on UNESCO's World Heritage list. The absolute must to see is the "Panorama Raclawicka",  a 130-meters long painting distinguished for its high artistic standard. The afternoon is you leisure time.  Overnight in Wroclaw. Day 8 | Wroclaw / Lodz
Today we leave for Lodz, the second largest city in Poland, famous for its world wide acclaimed Film academy, best represented by Roman Polanski and Oscar winner Andrzej Wajda.   En-route we visit a Hunting Palace in Antonin, built for Prince Antoni Radziwill, now a hotel with a museum devoted to Chopin who stayed twice in the palace.  The afternoon tour of Lodz starts at 2:30 pm. and includes the Museum of Cinematography, the Israel Poznanski Palace, a magnificent Neo-Baroque structure, housing the Arthur Rubinshtein museum and a glimpse of the monumental castle-like building of the former Israel Poznanski cotton factory, relic of the 19th century splendid industrial past of the city. Next, a visit to the largest Jewish cemetery in Europe.  Later, explore countless boutiques on Piotrowska Street.  Overnight in Lodz.  Grand Hotel,  B & D

Day 9 | Lodz / Malbork

On the road to Malbork, we will pass through Torun, the medieval wonder so closely identified with the life and times of Copernicus.  Tour of the city starts at 11:00 am.  After lunch we shop for famous Torun gingerbread and later continue to Malbork.  Afterwords, a stop in Gniew to see a classic  Teutonic Knights castle.  Tour of the largest brick built medieval fortress in Europe, the former capital of the Teutonic Knights.  If time permits we will view one of the best collection of amber artifacts in Poland at the castle museum.   An extraordinary dinner will follow in one of the castle's little chambers.   Overnight in Malbork.  Zamek Hotel, Malbork. Day 10 | Malbork / Gdansk
 Departure for Gdansk. En route a short stop at a little gem, Frombork, the fortified medieval Seat of Warmia, where Nicolaus Copernicus had his observatory and where he wrote his historic work "De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium". The complex consists of a Gothic Cathedral, the Copernicus Tower and the Bishop's Palace, now a museum. Later continue to Gdansk.  The afternoon is free for shopping, a golden opportunity to shop for amber, silver and other local crafts, visiting museums or a stroll down Dluga Street lined with shops and boutiques.  Overnight in Gdansk.  Novotel Hotel.  B & L

Day 11 | Gdansk
A thousand year old Gdansk, once the greatest port on the Baltic Sea is much more than the birthplace of the Solidarity movement with its founder Lech Walesa. Dutch Renaissance is overwhelmingly present here. We visit the Solidarity Monument, Westerplatte, the place of the first and longest battle of the invasion of Poland  in 1939. This is where the World War II started.  Later, an imposing 14th century St. Mary's Church, a stunning Town Hall, Neptune's Fountain, glorious houses and palaces and charming craft stores selling beautiful amber jewelry. Later enjoy an organ concert at the Cathedral in Oliwa.  Dinner at Gdansk's finest restaurant caps the day's activity.  Overnight in Gdansk.  Novotel Hotel.  B, D

Day 12 | Gdansk / Warsaw
The road to Warsaw takes us through Nidzica Castle where we stop for lunch and Zelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Frederick Chopin (optional). The little manor surrounded by a park is now a museum and a place where piano recitals take place every summer.  Overnight in Warsaw.   Novotel Centrum Hotel.  B, L

Day 13 | Warsaw
In the morning, watch a documentary on Warsaw's 20th century history. Then, visit the Barbican, the Old Town market square and the Royal Castle, all entirely reconstructed after being razed to the ground during the WW II. After lunch, explore other famous city sites including Lazienki Park and Palace, the monumental statue of Chopin, The Jewish Ghetto Monument, the Chopin Museum and the Royal Route lined with numerous churches and monuments.  In the evening farewell dinner.  Overnight in Warsaw, Novotel Centrum Hotel.   B, D

Day 14 | Warsaw
After breakfast, full of wonderful memories, you are transferred to the airport for the flight home.  B
