Tour of Poland - "Folklore & Leisure"
Day 1 | Warsaw
Meet your tour guide at 6:00 pm in the Novotel Centrum Hotel lobby for the welcome dinner and folklore performance at the hotel restaurant. D
Day 2 | Warsaw
Meet the group after breakfast in the hotel lobby to depart for sightseeing of Warsaw which includes: Old Town, rebuilt with great reverence after World War II, its beautiful Old Market Square, the Barbican and medieval defense walls. Continue to the Jewish Ghetto Memorial, dedicated to the thousands of lives taken by the Nazis. Then we drive along the Royal Route where many momentous events in Polish history took place. Our next stop will be Lazienki Park with a beautiful sculpture of Chopin, surrounded by fragrant rosebushes. After lunch an excursion to Lowicz (Maurzyce village) to participate in wedding ceremony in skansen museum. BL
Day 3 | Warsaw / Czestochowa / Bielsko Biala
After breakfast, depart for Bielsko Biala. En route, we'll go to the monastery at Jasna Gora where Poland's holiest spiritual icon, the Black Madonna, is revered as the ''Queen of Poland.'' Lunch in Czestochowa. Overnight in Bielsko Biala. BL
Day 4 | Bielsko Biala / Zakopane
Full-day excursion through one of Poland's most picturesque regions, the Beskidy Mountains, with visits to Koniakow and Istebna, renowned for amazing lace embroidery. Lunch at a local restaurant. Sightseeing of the Ethnographic Park at Zubrzyca Gorna and visit the village of Chocholow. Overnight in Zakopane. BL
Day 5 | Zakopane
Sightseeing tour of Zakopane, including excursion by cable car to Gubalowka Mountain. Free time for shopping. Dinner with folk show. Overnight in Zakopane. BD
Day 6 | Zakpane / Krakow
Morning departure for Krakow. On the way, a rafting trip down the Dunajec River and through the Pieniny Mountains National Park makes an unforgettable experience. Lunch in the local restaurant. Overnight in Krakow. BL
Day 7 | Krakow
Morning sightseeing of Krakow, the former capital of Poland. Your city tour includes Wawel Hill and its fortified Renaissance castle, Old Town, and St. Mary's Church with Wit Stwosz's world-famous altar. Afternoon on your own. After lunch browse through the craft shops that line the Cloth Hall - a great place to buy all sorts of folk art & souvenirs. Afternoon visit 700-year old Wieliczka Salt Mine, un unforgettable three miles of underground chambers, caves, chapels and statues all sculptured from salt. Dinner at local restaurant. BD
Day 8 | Krakow / Warsaw
After breakfast, depart for Warsaw. The rest of the day is free for last-minute shopping or individual pursuits. (If you want to skip the last overnight in Warsaw, the hotel price will be deducted from the total amount). Farewell dinner with folklore performance at local restaurant. Overnight in Warsaw. BD
Day 9 | Warsaw
After breakfast the tour is concluded. B
