Royal Krakow

Thousand year old Krakow, one the most beautiful European cities, was the nation's capital and the centre of royal life for over half a millennium. The city is the home of an enormous collection of art, historical monuments and Medieval and Renaissance architecture.  Krakow, nominated as one of Europe's cultural capitals for the jubilee year 2000, is a perfect place for visiting museums and galleries, shopping, enjoying splendid cafes, great restaurants and Polish cuisine.


During your half a day tour of Krakow you will visit the Wawel Castle, the seat of Poland's kings for 500 years and the Wawel Cathedral with its magnificent Renaissance chapel. The tour also includes Collegium Maius, the oldest college of the Jagiellonian University founded in 1364 medieval,  the Europe's largest market square surrounded by period  houses and palaces, as well as its to main two focal points; the Gothic St.Mary's Church housing the magnificent altarpiece by Veit Stoss, and the Cloth Hall - which shelters stalls of merchants and artisans selling souvenirs and gifts.

Wieliczka Salt Mine
Prepare to be amazed at the devotion and superstition that drove miners to carve figures, monuments and altarpieces into the walls of an 800-year-old salt mine.
A vast underground city, complete with huge caverns and underground lakes. This underground world has earned a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list thanks to the creativity of the miners who carved chapels out of the walls, hundreds of metres below the surface.

Zakopane and Tatra Mountains
Zakopane is the most popular highland town in Poland, thanks to its splendid natural scenery, its pistes and hiking trails, and a rich folk culture. You will begin your exploration of the area by taking the funicular railway to the top of Mount Gubałówka for views over the granite and limestone peaks of the Tatra mountains. Having returned to the oldest part of Zakopane, we will visit the charming wooden old parish church and the most unique cemetery in Poland. To complete your experience, you have a chance to visit the enormous regional market and enjoy lunch in a regional restaurant serving local specialities.

Jewish Heritage
Visit Kazimierz -a flourishing centre of Jewish religion, culture and trade. Due to the policy of religious tolerance in Poland, Kazimierz became a safe haven for diverse groups of Jewish refugees from all over Europe. The tour aims to retrace this diversity which resulted in the construction of numerous synagogues (including the oldest one in Poland) and a very unique atmosphere which is still present there. Also, you might recognise some of the sights that appeared in the Oscar winning Schindler's list which was shot in this area.
