Can a land with a history over a thousand
years old still offer modern day travelers an opportunity for new discovery?
It can when that land is Poland!
The world watched in amazement as Poland underwent a late 20th Century
renaissance of social and political changes. Now the country that helped
usher in a new wave of democracy to Eastern Europe has opened its doors
for your personal discovery.
The Republic of Poland shares many borders: Germany to the West, The Czech
Republic and Slovakia to the South, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine to
the East, Russia and The Baltic Sea to the north. Perhaps this geography
helps in explaining the country’s diversity of the arts, entertainment,
culture and cuisine. Having so many neighbours might also explain the
world-class hospitality and inviting friendliness of the Polish people!
As much as Poland is defined by its people, it is the natural landscapes,
picturesque scenery and historic architecture that serve as the most eloquent
witnesses to Poland’s unique beauty. While modern civilization has
marched through much of Europe, it has left a great deal of the Polish
countryside unspoiled. From the golden beaches of the Baltic Sea to the
near primeval splendor of the Bialowieza Virgin forests to the azure radiance
of the Great Mazurian Lakes, Poland I truly a naturalist dream.
On the other hand, centuries of architectural design and expression have
left the Polish landscape dotted with medieval castles, ancient fortresses,
stunning monasteries and aristocratic residencies. From the monuments
of Krakow to the shipyards of Gdansk, Poland is a living gallery of opportunity
for photographers.
The most surprising fact, however, is that Poland remains a country largely
unknown to North American travelers. Make this land of discovery your
next destination. Panorama Travel will be happy to let you in on the beautiful
secret that is Poland.
